ECOMMERCE SHIPMENT OPERATIONS

Delivery exception management with a clear next step.

A delayed parcel can turn into repeated tracking checks, customer emails and forgotten courier follow-ups. FulfillIQ brings the evidence and actions into one shipment ticket.

What is a delivery exception?

A delivery exception is an event or delay that interrupts the expected journey of a shipment. Examples include a failed delivery attempt, a carrier-reported problem, return to sender, or no movement beyond the merchant's agreed delivery window. An exception needs investigation; it does not automatically mean the parcel is lost.

Handle delays against your own delivery promises

Configure delivery windows, non-working days and escalation thresholds using your published policies. FulfillIQ checks supported tracking events and prepares the next permitted action. Your team reviews ambiguous events and decides what can be promised to a customer.

Follow up on failed attempts and returns

Review the carrier evidence, prepare a customer update and contact an approved courier address where needed. Replies to FulfillIQ messages can attach to the same case. Scheduled reviews help your team revisit the ticket rather than relying on someone to remember it.

Handle delivered-but-not-received reports carefully

Tracking alone cannot tell you that a customer disputes delivery. The customer or merchant must report the issue first. Once recorded, your team investigates the delivery evidence and keeps the dispute under human review. A delivered scan should not automatically close a reported delivery dispute or trigger an unapproved refund.

Agree responsibility before automating

The merchant owns refund, replacement and carrier-claim decisions. FulfillIQ prepares evidence and controlled communications; it cannot guarantee a carrier investigation or delivery outcome. CSV pilots exclude Shopify refund actions and begin with message approvals enabled.

Measure the pilot against a real operational problem

Agree what success means before setup: quicker first action on exceptions, fewer forgotten follow-ups or clearer case ownership. Review the first week's tickets and the 30-day results with the merchant. We do not promise a savings percentage without measured evidence.
